About Me
Stephanie Kreuz is a writer and artist. She received a Bachelor degree in English Literature from Frostburg State University and also extensively studied art as part of her education. Later, she received a Master in Fine Arts in Creative Writing: Fiction from Mills College where she focused on writing for young adults. She went on to have an eclectic career working in educational publishing, startups, and marketing.
On the writing side, she is working on an adult fantasy novel about witches and necromancy with a goal to finish her first draft later this year. Her creative nonfiction work has been featured in Anti-Heroin Chic.
As of 2026, she took up oil painting and has found her new favorite medium. While she is enjoying experimenting with her style, she prefers to paint representationally, focusing on nature and still life scenes with plans to further explore portraiture.
In 2018, she focused on abstract art. An avid photographer for over 12 years, she used her keen eye in composition to create shapes and forms that drew the eye across the canvas. Her inspiration often came from shapes in nature including flowers, clouds, and the ocean. In particular, she was drawn to complementary colors and often worked with a limited palette.
When she’s not making art, she spends her time reading and hiking with her dog Honey in Northern California.
